Bed bugs prefer hiding in beds, as this is nearest to their source of food. Being able to hide during the day, makes it easier to come out at night while we are sleeping.
Bed bugs are excellent climbers and can climb up into beds, mattresses, crown molding, electrical wiring, clothing closets, bedside tables, etc. Subsequently, they cannot only be found in the bedroom, but also in other places in the house:
- sofas and chairs
- kitchen cabinets
- behind picture frames hanging on the wall
- carpets and other textiles or organic materials
- cracks and crevices in floor boards and skirting boards
- electrical sockets
